Columbia Volleyball Suffers Straight-Sets Loss to Dartmouth

The Columbia volleyball team fell to Dartmouth in straight sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-15) on Saturday, October 27, 2023. The Lions were unable to secure their second consecutive Ivy League victory, despite a strong performance from Harper Justema, who led the team with 11 kills.

The first set was closely contested, with both teams trading points early on. Columbia took a brief lead at 8-7, but Dartmouth responded with a 3-0 run to go ahead 10-8. The Big Green never looked back, extending their lead to as many as six points before closing out the set on an attack error.

Columbia came out firing in the second set, building a 22-17 lead thanks to a monster block from Soah Franklin and Justema. However, Dartmouth rallied late, scoring eight straight points to come back and win the set. The Big Green benefited from several Columbia errors during the run, including four missed serves.
